Chemical Peels

Chemical peels can be used for the following conditions:

  • Sun Damage: solar lentigo, solar keratosis.
  • Pigmentation: Melasma, Post-Acne Pigmentation.
  • Acute Acne: including severe cystic acne
  • Rejuvenation: erase fine lines.

Chemical peels works by causing sloughing or removal of the upper layers of skin. Normally these are the layers that are damaged by the elements such as sun, wind and neglect. By removing the upper layers of skin, the overall skin texture is dramatically smoothed, superficial wrinkles are quickly eliminated and color irregularities are improved. Patient’s benefit by regaining a fresher more vibrant appearance.

The treatment takes around 10-20 minutes per session. Patients usually need 1 - 4 sessions depending on the used peel and the condition being treated.

The skin that peels away after the procedure leaves a fresh layer of skin that is vulnerable. It is advised that patient stay out of the sun for at least 4 weeks following treatment. Sunscreen must also be worn at all times following the procedure.
